Today we were all up bright and early to meet on the patio to have devotions. Betty shared with us about how God is always with us in all situations. After devotions we packed 15 of us into the van and headed to Pastor Rios’ house for eggs and biscuits with homemade pineapple jam.
We arrived at the clinic and set up for the day. Many of us had new jobs today so we all pitched in to train everyone in their new positions. It was a national holiday in Belize, so we expected a large turnout and we were not disappointed. After our opening prayer song we started seeing clients.
Today we saw 158 people including many children. We were able to provide 374 glasses including prescriptions for reading, distance, and sunglasses. We extended our hours to accommodate everyone so that no one was turned away.
It is heartwarming that everyday we have so many people that are grateful that they are able to read their Bible again. Many people have lost the ability to see long distance, but they have regained the ability to read the Word with the new glasses they have received.
One gentleman was overjoyed with the service that our team provided. He gave each team member a handshake or a hug and said that we were all angels from afar.
Everyone on the team felt it was a wonderful but exhausting day. We give praise to God that we were able to provide sight and the Word to so many people.

Chicken tacos, plantains, and cantaloupe were prepared for our dinner by Ruth and Yolanda, then back to the hotel for debriefing. Becky shared a devotion based on the parable of searching for the lost coin.
There is much beauty here in Belize amidst the poverty we also see. Everyone in this county has been welcoming and so appreciative of us being here and providing the clinic. Tomorrow will be our last clinic day so we pray that God would send us the people who need to have their sight improved and their hearts opened to hear God's Word.
