Virtual Pre-Field Training Meeting

Sunday evening, October 19th, we joined together for our third virtual pre-field training meeting led by our MOST team leader, Barbara. What a blessing she is to our group, preparing our hearts and minds for the mission field, educating us on how to set up and run an eyeglass clinic, preparing us for our interactions with the people of Bellize, and helping us bond together as a mission team!

Our team has completed the six chapter Bible study, "God's Missionary Kingdom," provided by MOST Ministries. We shared how our prespecives of missions have changed or been reenforced by the study. God's Word is equipping us for challenges and blessings that lie ahead whether in Belize or closer to home.

This meeting focused on understanding the Hispanic culture and how we are to respect and respond to the people of Belize. It is a matriarchal, loving culture that runs at a slower pace than we are accustomed to in the United States. We are encouraged to greet them is their own language, and we now have less than three weeks to brush up on Spanish words and phrases!
